Virginia Republican gubernatorial nominee Glenn Youngkin and his campaign coalitions are out in force as Latinos for Youngkin attended a Prince William County Salvadoran festival earlier this month.
“Over the past few days, I’ve had the opportunity to spend time with Salvadoran employers in the region" Latinos for Youngkin chairwoman Yesli Vega said on Facebook on Aug. 8. "These men and women are ready to support leaders like Glenn Youngkin, (GOP lieutenant gubernatorial nominee) Winsome Sears and our first statewide Hispanic elected official, Jason Miyares, to fight for their small businesses and who share their values of faith, family and freedom."
Youngkin received additional support from Hispanics on social media.
“As a proud American of Hispanic descent and one of five generations of veterans who has given blood for his county, I vote the person not the party" Latinos for Youngkin co-chair Daniel Cortez posted on Aug. 8. "Glenn Youngkin represents patriotic values our independent voting community respects. He’ll make a great Virginia governor.”
Over the same weekend, Women for Glenn also campaigned in Fairfax, Virginia. Additionally, Law Enforcement for Glenn rallied support for the campaign in Rockingham County and Staunton. Team Youngkin was also out in other parts of the commonwealth.
Finally, Team Youngkin was present at the Friendship Firehouse Festival in Old Town Alexandria.
Other groups and coalitions in support of Youngkin's gubernatorial campaign include Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and black Virginians. The Youngkin campaign has also assembled an election integrity task force.
Youngkin is considered an underdog in his campaign against former Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe.
