Women's Soccer Travels to Baltimore to Kick Off Season

Randolph - Macon College issued the following announcement on Sept. 3

After Ida and COVID postponed the opener at Meredith, the Randolph-Macon women's soccer team will finally begin its season this weekend at the Johns Hopkins Invitational.

The Basics

Game 1: Saturday, Sept. 4 vs. Johns Hopkins

Time: 3 p.m.

Venue: Baltimore, Md. (Homewood Field)

Series Record: Randolph-Macon 1, Johns Hopkins 0 (9/3/95: R-MC 5, JHU 0 in Baltimore)

2021 Spring Records: R-MC 2-4-2 overall, 2-2-2 ODAC; JHU did not play. The Blue Jays were 17-3-4 overall and 6-1-3 in the Centennial in 2019. JHU reached the national quarterfinals in the NCAA Tournament.

Preseason Predictions: R-MC was picked sixth in the ODAC. JHU was picked to win the Centennial.

Game 2: Sunday, Sept. 5 vs. Susquehanna

Time: 4 p.m.

Venue: Baltimore, Md. (Homewood Field)

Series Record: First meeting

2021 Spring Records: SU went 0-0-1 this past spring. The River Hawks were 6-12 overall and 1-6 in the Landmark in 2019.

Seniors: The Yellow Jackets will be led by four seniors: Maddie Bauman, Jules Heuchan, Kylie Martino and Tyria Smalls.

Captains: R-MC will have three senior captains: Maddie Bauman, Kylie Martino and Tyria Smalls.

Sporty Siblings: The R-MC women's soccer team has a pair of players with siblings on other Yellow Jacket teams. Jules Heuchan's brother Brecht is a quarterback on the R-MC football team. Olivia Adams has twin brothers on the Yellow Jacket men's soccer team: Harrison and Parker.
