Town of Colonial Beach recently issued the following announcement.
BBQ Cookoff at the Beach
October 2 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Do you have the Best BBQ in the Area? Here is your chance to show off your best BBQ recipe during the Fredericksburg Fallen Heroes 2nd Annual BBQ Cook-off at the beach.
Deadline to sign up and payment: September 1, 2021
DJ Turtle will be onsite playing tunes. This event is free and open to the public, as always we will be accepting donations as you enter the event to help further our cause to support our local veterans and first responders.
Entry Fee is $50.00 for BBQ contestants. If a BBQ participant decides to enter two different categories, they will be required to pay two separate entry fees.
BBQ Cooks will be allowed on site 24 hours prior to the actual event to prepare their specialty.
2 Categories, $300 cash prize to the winners of each category:
Ribs (no country ribs allowed)
Pork – Can include, butt, shoulder or picnic
We will be having a People’s Choice Award this year.
BBQ Cooks: your application with all the rules for the event and payment button will be located on the Fredericksburg Fallen Heroes website under events.
10×12 area for each BBQ Cook.
BBQ Cooks are required to provide a small amount to the public for taste testing. This will be apart of the People’s choice awards.
Lots of Vendors will be on site, including food trucks. We are currently still looking for Vendors for this event. We are filling up fast and currently have 22 vendors.

Vendor spots are $30
10×10 area for each vendor. If more space is needed, an additional fee of $30 will be required.
All Entrants, you will be required to bring your own table, chairs, tent and accessories.
