Westmoreland County issued the following announcement on Jan. 28
It has been brought to our attention that notices of reassessment of real estate values mailed out to property owners in the town of Colonial Beach have the incorrect tax rate. Property owners in the Town of Colonial Beach should have a tax rate of forty-seven cents per $100 dollars of assessed value. Use of the incorrect tax rate will produce the incorrect tax levy for the years of 2020, 2021, and 2022.
The assessed value for the land and buildings is correct for all three years. The percent change of assessed value is correct. Pearson's Appraisal Service, Inc. accepts full responsibility for this oversite and apologizes for any confusion this may have caused.
