Westmoreland County issued the following announcement on Feb. 25

The governing body shall conduct at least one public hearing during a forty-five (45) day period to receive public comment on the proposed covered practice. Public comment shall be accepted for a period of no fewer than thirty (30) days. During this period, the governing body shall afford interested persons an opportunity to submit data, views, and arguments in writing by mail, fax, or email, or through an on line public comment forum on the official website for the locality.

Therefore, notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 24.2-129 of the Code of Virginia, that the Board of Supervisors of Westmoreland County, Virginia will hold a public hearing on Monday, March 14, 2022 at 6:30 pm in the public meeting room of the George D. English, Sr. Memorial Building, located at 111 Polk Street, Montross, Virginia to receive public comment regarding the decennial redistricting changes. 

The proposed map can be viewed on the county website, https://westmorelandco. maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=b9e4f5d296fe48fbb60fb31061e9ff34. Written comments should be submitted to the County Administrator's Office, P.O. Box 1000, Montross, VA, via fax at 804-493-0134 or via email to redistricting@westmoreland-county.org.

Individuals with a disability, as defined in the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (AD), desiring to attend this public hearing should contact the County Administrator's office prior to the meeting so as to ensure appropriate accommodations are provided.
