R-MC Field Hockey Tabbed Fifth in 2022 ODAC Preseason Poll

 The Old Dominion Athletic Conference has released its preseason coaches' poll for the 2022 fall season and Randolph-Macon has been picked fifth. The Yellow Jackets received 38 points in the voting process to place them in the middle of the field for the second-straight season.

Defending champion Washington and Lee was picked at the top of the standings. The Generals garnered six of the nine total first place votes and 61 points overall. University of Lynchburg collected a first-place vote to add to the second-highest point total in 56, three points better than Shenandoah who picked up the remaining two first place tallies and received 53 points.

Roanoke stands in fourth with 44 points as the Yellow Jackets round out the top five with 38 points.

Bridgewater sees a sixth-place tally with 28 points as Eastern Mennonite follows with 19 and Virginia Wesleyan (18) and Ferrum (9) complete the standings.

The Yellow Jackets will open the season on Thursday, Sept. 1, when they host Salisbury with a scheduled start of 3 p.m. from Nunnally Field.

  5. Randolph-Macon College 38 pts.

  8. Virginia Wesleyan University 18 pts.
  9. Ferrum College 9 pts.
