National Weather Service Wakefield, VA as of 4:30 PM on Saturday 10/1/2022 the potential for significant tidal flooding through early next week.
Minor to locally moderate tidal flooding is expected tonight, with the highest water levels in the mid to upper Chesapeake Bay.
Additional rounds of coastal flooding (potentially moderate to major in SE VA/NE NC) are expected Sunday night through Tuesday.
Marine: The temporary decrease in winds will continue through Sunday morning. Another round of gale force winds is still expected, occurring from Sunday evening through Monday (out of the N and NE). Additional beach erosion is likely due to large breaking waves.
