Flinchum Has Strong Round to Open Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invite

Freshman Elli Flinchum (Summerville, N.C./Rockingham County) led the Randolph-Macon women's golf team through 18 holes in the first round of the Chick-fil-A Invitational, shooting a three-over 75. Flinchum's card was the seventh-best on the first day, which featured 18 holes. 

The Basics

Tournament: Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invite

Dates: Monday, October 25 and Tuesday, October 26

Venue: Rome, Georgia (Coosa Country Club - Par 72, 5,652)

Host: Berry College

Emma Bonovitch (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) and Madeline Brahler (Stafford, Va./Colonial Forge) finished the day turning in identical cards, as the pair each shot a 91 to land in the top 60 of a crowded group. VyVy Tran (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run) ended just a few shots shy of Bonovitch and Brahler to round out play for Head Coach Bryan Hearn's side with one more day on the ledger.

Methodist University leads the team podium after the first round, shooting a collective 301 (+13). Sewanee (309, +21) and Ohio Northern (310, +22) round out the top three teams while Sarah Hsu, the fourth-ranked individual in the country, tops the individual leaderboard with 67 (-5) for Oglethorpe.

The final day of golf, which features 18 more holes, will take place Tuesday, October 26.
