VIRGINIA NOTES

  • With 14 wins this season, the Cavaliers are tied for the largest increase in total wins over last season [Virginia (+9), UIC (+9), Illinois (+9), ETSU (+9)]. Virginia was 5-22 last season and 0-5 in 2021-22
  • The Cavaliers’ last three road games have been against top-10 opponents (at No. 9 Virginia Tech, at No. 10 NC State and at No. 7 Notre Dame). This will be the team’s first road game against an opponent who has not been ranked this season since playing at William & Mary on Dec. 7. UVA played at Duke when the Blue Devils were unranked, with Duke moving into the AP Top 25 right after playing UVA
  • Camryn Taylor scored her 1,000th career point on Sunday at Notre Dame. She is the second Cavalier to reach the milestone this month, joining Sam Brunelle
  • Taylor is 11 rebounds shy of reaching 500 in her career
  • Taylor has scored in double figures in five of her last six games, averaging 15.2 points per game in that span
  • Taylor is averaging 13.0 points per game overall this season and the exact same figure in conference contests
  • The Cavaliers were +5 in rebounding against Notre Dame, grabbing 42 rebounds
  • McKenna Dale and London Clarkson grabbed eight rebounds apiece against the Irish
  • Dale has had five or more rebounds in three of the last four games and is averaging 5.3 boards per game in that span. She has raised her average to 3.7 per game
  • It was the second time in the last three games that Clarkson has grabbed eight rebounds
  • Clarkson has 20 rebounds in the last three games, 11 of which are offensive rebounds
  • The Cavaliers are ninth in the nation in rebounds per game at 44.7 and lead the ACC with 15.4 offensive rebounds per game (15th in the nation)

  • UVA leads the ACC and is 15th in the nation in three-point percentage defense with teams shooting 25.8 percent from long range
AGUGUA-HAMILTON and LEGETTE-JACK
