94 12th-grade students enrolled in Northumberland County schools in 2023-24 school year

There were 94 12th-grade students enrolled in Northumberland County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 3.1% fewer than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Northumberland High School was the only school that welcomed 12th-grade students in the county.

Within Northumberland County schools, the largest number of students were found in 10th-grade, while pre-kindergarten had the least students.

Statewide, Northumberland County ranked 116th in enrollment numbers. It was ranked 115th the year before.

As of November 2023, according to Public Schools Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools nationwide.
