Randolph - Macon College issued the following announcement on Oct. 29
Randolph-Macon and Virginia Wesleyan will meet for a second time this season just 10 days after their first game. The first game was won by the Yellow Jackets, but this time there is more on the line as they meet in the ODAC tournament quarterfinals.

Defense ended up being the best offense as two defensive players provided both goals in the prior meeting between the Yellow Jackets and Marlins a week and a half ago. Kodi Tannor (So., Midlothian, Va. / Midlothian) scored the first while Alec Mowry (Jr., Salem, Va. / Salem) scored on a Colton Howell (Sr., Glen Allen, Va. / Glen Allen) free kick.

Elijah Lloyd (Jr., Roanoke, Va./ North Cross) scored in the 16th minute on a corner kick by Howell and Penny Senior (Sr., Kingston, Jamaica / Meadowbrook) added an insurance goal thanks to an assist by Yoni Ramirez (Fr., Richmond, Va. / Hermitage) to lock up the third seed in the ODAC tournament. Adam Braithwaite (Fr., Chesterfield, Va. / Matoaca) recorded the eighth shutout of his rookie campaign and the ninth for the team this year.
Virginia Wesleyan 1, No. 1 Washington & Lee 3 – Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Virginia Wesleyan
The Marlins had the Generals on their heels after a goal by Everett McCloskey in the 64th minute tied the game at 1-1, but top-ranked W&L scored two goals in the final 12:30 to take the win and nail down the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament.
Inside The Numbers
- This is the second consecutive year that the Yellow Jackets have earned the No. 3 seed in the ODAC tournament.
- This will be the third trip to Nunnally Field for the Marlins this season. Aside from their regular season matchup with the Yellow Jackets, they also played their second game of the season at Randolph-Macon in a neutral site game against Neumann.
